A team of scientists sought to find out how violence between rebel groups in the Central African Republic has affected the country’s mortality rate. They found that it’s shaken the foundations of the country, particularly the production and delivery of food and solving ailments like diarrhea. What’s more, in 2022, Central African Republic had the highest mortality rate in the world. The World’s host Carolyn Beeler talks with Leslie Roberts, one of the researchers who went into the Central African Republic, about how they gathered all this information and what it means.
