Sami membership bill fails in committee

A debate has raged in Finland over the past few years as to who should be considered part of the Sami Indigenous group. But a bill that would narrow the criteria for membership failed in committee on Feb. 24. As John Last reports from Inari in northern Finland, some Sami leaders say the current membership rules allow outsiders to influence Sami decision-making.
