 Shakila Zareen was 23 when her abusive husband shot her in the face. The Afghan woman was eventually resettled in Canada, where she has become an advocate for domestic violence victims, while undergoing multiple surgeries to reconstruct part of her face. The CBC’s Laura Lynch tells her story.
