Protests and remembrances amid Haiti earthquake anniversary

The World

It has been 10 years since a 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Haiti. More than 300,000 people were killed, according to Haiti’s official count. Services and memorials took place across the country this past weekend. But a decade on, a number of buildings that were destroyed in the quake have yet to be rebuilt, leaving many Haitians frustrated, hungry and homeless. Anti-government protesters interrupted a visit from the president and an international delegation to the country’s largest mass grave on Sunday. Host Carol Hills speaks with Haitian filmmaker Etant Dupain, who was there, about the anniversary and the present-day situation.
