In Colombia, 14 people were killed last week amid clashes between protesters and police. The deaths are consistent with the National Police of Colombia’s regular abuse of power and violence against innocent civilians, according to an upcoming study that found officers killed 649 people from 2017 to 2019, and reportedly engaged in 241 instances of sexual assault. The World’s Jorge Valencia reports on one of the victims killed in the most recent spate of violence.
