The Philippines has temporarily stopped sending domestic workers to Kuwait after the shocking murder of Filipina houseworker, Jullebee Ranara, in January. Ashley Westerman reports from Manila that activists for domestic workers’ rights are applauding the decision, despite the economy’s reliance on remittances from these workers.
