Once deemed ‘totalitarian regime’ by Biden, Poland expected to show NATO unity

President Biden is in Poland this weekend to meet with President Andrzej Duda. Praise of the country’s efforts to help Ukrainians over the past month of war has stood in contrast to past criticisms of Duda’s government, which Biden once mentioned, along with Belarus, as part of “the rise of totalitarian regimes in the world.” Host Carol Hills discussed the visit with Michal Baranowski, director of the German Marshall Fund’s Warsaw office.
