Norway launches new platform for political debates

The World

Ahead of the 2020 presidential elections in the US, there will be more political debates and ads. Most of the time, opponents go after each other’s throats. There’s name calling, blame and a lot of interrupting. What if there were a different platform? There is. In Norway. A new Norwegian program that focuses on big-picture topics in the Scandanavian country, such as inequality, abortion rights and climate change. The platform gives opponents a chance to listen to each other more thoughtfully and respectfully. It also gives viewers a chance to understand multiple sides to the issue.
