But Cindy Regidor, a journalist with Confidencial, a Nicaraguan newsroom in exile, told The World’s host Marco Werman that the government saw the victory as a threat. The director of the country’s Miss Universe franchise is now charged with participating in a coup attempt by Nicaragua’s authoritarian government.
