A new mural in San Diego’s Chicano Park depicts the successful fight to ban the use of a short-handled hoe on California farms. The tool, known as the El Cortito hoe, crippled farm workers, most of whom were undocumented migrants from Mexico. KPBS’s Katie Hyson has the story behind the mural.
