Last week, a new president was elected to Interpol, the international alliance of police forces that cooperates to stop transnational criminals and fugitives. The new president is Gen. Ahmed Nasser al-Raisi from the United Arab Emirates. He is accused by the Gulf Centre for Human Rights, and others, of leading a national police force in the UAE that abused its citizens and detainees. Marco Werman interviews William Bourdon, a French human rights lawyer who has filed a complaint against Gen. Raisi in France.
