For young Mormons, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations” is a rite of passage. Today, thanks to missionaries, the church has expanded well beyond Utah. Most of its converts are outside the US. The church estimates that there are 16 million Mormons around the world, a 50% increase since 2000. But retaining new converts is proving especially difficult.
