Mexican singer/songwriter Armando Manzanero passed away after COVID-19 diagnosis

Armando Manzanero, one of Mexico’s most beloved singer/songwriters died last week in Mexico City at 86. He had been hospitalized for COVID-19. Manzanero, who became well-known for songs like 1968’s “Somos Novios,” wrote more than 400 songs during his seven-decade career. In 2014, he went on to receive a lifetime achievement Grammy.
