In southern Ukraine, Russian forces are bombarding the port city of Mariupol. The city’s mayor, Vadym Boichenko, called it a humanitarian catastrophe. Mariupol is being besieged by Russian forces — people in the city lack electricity and access to food and water. According to Ukrainian authorities, about 160,000 residents remain in Mariupol. Before the war, the city had a population of about 430,000. Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Solohub speaks with host Carol Hills from Zaporizhzhia, in southern Ukraine.
