After the 2016 US presidential election, an investigation from BuzzFeed News revealed that a bunch of teens from Macedonia ran websites with fake news about US politics. The often false viral stories were in support of then-candidate Donald Trump. It was a money-making scheme for online ad dollars. And it worked. But, new information has been uncovered in a joint investigation by BuzzFeed and partners that shows the whole thing was launched by a well-known Macedonian attorney.
