Lessons from Hurricane Maria

The World

The Harvard School of Public Health found that Hurricane Maria caused as many as 5,000 deaths in Puerto Rico last year. Most resulted from a breakdown of critical health services. The official death toll is 64. Host Marco Werman speaks with disaster researcher Malka Older, who spent 10 years as an aid worker overseas. She tells us what we can learn from Maria about how the US approaches disaster management and relief.
