Last Ebola patient discharged in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The World

Health workers in the city of Beni discharged the last Ebola patient being treated in the country — with dancing and singing. Since the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo started a year and a half ago, more than 3,000 people have been infected, and more than 2,000 have died. The country has now gone two weeks without an active case. To be declared Ebola-free requires going 42 days without an active case.
