Long wait lists, shortages — that’s the norm for people seeking kidney transplants in the United States. But you might be surprised to learn that a lot of donated kidneys are never used — organs that are deemed acceptable in places like France. That’s according to a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Alexandre Loupy, a professor of nephrology in Paris and the study’s co-author, explains the findings.
