Kenya reckons with Moi’s legacy

The World

Kenya said goodbye to Daniel arap Moi today. He was Kenya’s longest-serving president, overseeing the country for 24 years from 1978 to 2002. He was 95. Moi came into office with the promise of tackling corruption and unifying a diverse and divided country. But what many in Kenya remember are the human rights abuses and torture chambers that were part of Moi’s government.
