Kazakhstan crisis developments

In Kazakhstan today, after a week of protest, violence and uncertainty, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that order has been restored. Tokayev said that troops from Russia and other Collective Security Treaty Organization countries deployed to Kazakhstan helped quell the unrest. Today, Tokayev said that that mission has concluded, and that troops would begin leaving the country within the next two days. Host Carol Hills speaks with Darkhan Umirbekov, an editor with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Kazakh service based in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.
