In Kazakhstan today, after a week of protest, violence and uncertainty, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that order has been restored. Tokayev said that troops from Russia and other Collective Security Treaty Organization countries deployed to Kazakhstan helped quell the unrest. Today, Tokayev said that that mission has concluded, and that troops would begin leaving the country within the next two days.
