Juneteenth in Shanghai

This year, two Juneteenth celebrations are being planned in China — in Shanghai and Shenzhen. These will be the first-ever official Juneteenth celebrations in the country. Celebrating Juneteenth in China this year has a special meaning for Black Americans living there, especially since international travel is near impossible at this time.
