Is the Alabama abortion law a trend worldwide? Decidedly not.

The World

The new Alabama law on abortion — an almost total ban except for women with serious health risks — is not a global trend. With some important exceptions, there’s access to abortion in most countries around the globe, including in conservative religious nations. Marco Werman compares and contrasts global laws and attitudes toward abortion with The World’s gender reporter Allison Herrera and Michelle Oberman of the University of Santa Clara whose work focuses on ethical and legal issues surrounding adolescence, pregnancy and motherhood.
