South Africa’s “Just Energy Transition” is the first of its kind. Funded in part by some of the richest, highest-emitting countries, it’s a plan to kick coal and launch a renewables revolution. It was announced at last year’s global climate summit and the details are coming to light at this year’s conference. Some are critical of the plan, saying it falls far short of what was promised.
