Armed groups battling Myanmar’s military junta have made significant gains in the past month. The three ethnic armies have seized cities and towns, along with several strategic border crossings with China. It’s now conceivable that large parts of Myanmar could be free from the military’s grip. The World’s Patrick Winn reports that the gains are happening without overt US support.
