Iran has sentenced to death journalist Ruhollah Zam, whose online AmadNews channel on the messaging app Telegram helped inspire nationwide economic protests in 2017. Zam had been working in exile in Paris but returned to Iran under circumstances that are not entirely clear. He was arrested in October 2019. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Hadi Ghaemi, executive director of the Center for Human Rights in Iran, about Zam’s case.
