Inroads to an effective malaria vaccine, finally

Researchers have found that a new vaccine for malaria may be more than 70% effective on children in a phase II clinical trial in Burkina Faso. No other vaccine comes close to that. The public health impacts could be far-reaching if the results continue in further trials, Halidou Tinto tells host Marco Werman. He is a professor of parasitology and principal investigator at the Clinical Research Unit of Nanoro, in Burkina Faso.
