Inquiry holds Maltese state responsible for journalist’s death

Investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was a woman feared by many in high places. She was a veteran anti-corruption journalist based in Malta — the island nation south of Sicily. In 2017, she was working on a corruption story implicating the Prime Minister’s chief of staff. That same year, in October, she died in a car bombing. Today, an independent public inquiry in Malta found the state responsible for her death by creating a “culture of impunity.” Host Marco Werman speaks with Daphne Galizia’s son, Andrew Galizia.
