Indonesians can now officially praise ‘Yesus’ on Easter

The World

Indonesia is home to nearly 30 million Christians who pray to Jesus Christ or “Yesus Kristus.” But the government has always refused to acknowledge “Yesus” as the Christian messiah’s proper name. Instead they’ve opted for “Isa al-Masih,” Jesus’s name in the Quran. But thanks to a long-awaited legal decision, Indonesian Christians are looking forward to finally praising “Yesus” on Easter Sunday with the government’s full official blessing.
