Thousands have taken to the streets of Belarus to protest Sunday’s highly contested election of Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in power for almost three decades. Protesters are organizing amid wide-scale internet disruptions. Monitoring groups say Belarusian authorities are imposing a communications blackout to prevent people from organizing and sharing information. The World’s Lydia Emmanouilidou reports.
