HSBC rescues Silicon Valley Bank’s UK branch to calm contagion fears

HSBC took over Silicon Valley Bank’s subsidiary in the UK after it collapsed during a bank run in the United States. Theoretically, the move should allow the numerous tech firms that deposited millions of dollars with Silicon Valley Bank to access their money.
