If and when the world gets an effective vaccine or vaccines for COVID-19, actually getting it from the lab to those who need it around the globe will be no small feat. It involves a lot of logistics. To prepare, UNICEF has already begun stockpiling more than half a billion syringes. Beyond that, there’s the challenge of coordinating with communities on the ground and ensuring vaccines stay cold, even in areas that don’t have good cooling systems.
