How to vaccinate the whole world against COVID-19

The World

If and when the world gets an effective vaccine or vaccines for COVID-19, actually getting it from the lab to those who need it around the globe will be no small feat. It involves a lot of logistics. To prepare, UNICEF has already begun stockpiling more than half a billion syringes. Beyond that, there’s the challenge of coordinating with communities on the ground and ensuring vaccines stay cold, even in areas that don’t have good cooling systems. Host Marco Werman speaks with Benjamin Schreiber, deputy chief for UNICEF’s global immunization program, about how they’re getting ready.
