Guatemala suspends US deportations

The World

According to Guatemalan government officials, at least 44 Guatemalan migrants who were deported on flight from the US this week have tested positive for COVID-19. The migrants were returned to Central America on an April 13 flight from Brownsville, Texas. Advocates and government officials are worried that such deportations could hasten the spread of the virus. As a result, Guatemala has suspended all deportation flights from the US. Host Marco Werman talks with The World’s Jorge Valencia about the latest.
