Graphic novel shows the human cost of migratory labor

It’s an age-old story: leaving home for work, to build a better future for yourself and your family. And it’s a story that graphic novelist Kate Beaton knows well. She is a graphic novelist from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. And her story took her nearly clear across Canada, more than 3,000 miles to northern Alberta, to join thousands of others who also left their homes for better economic futures. She joins host Marco Werman to discuss her latest book, “Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands.”
