Worldwide deforestation increased in 2022, according to a new study from Global Forest Watch. Brazil, in particular, saw a huge swath of tropical forest disappear. Host Marco Werman spoke with Claudio Angelo, climate policy and communication coordinator with the Brazilian Climate Observatory, about whether or not his country can reverse the surge in deforestation, and how to get countries to enforce their own pledges to preserve the world’s forests.
