Global COVID deaths surpass 5-million mark

At least 5 million people have died from the novel coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. That’s according to Johns Hopkins University’s Coronavirus Resource Center. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Ali Mokdad, a professor of health science metrics and the chief strategy officer for population health at the University of Washington, to contextualize this number and get an overall update on the impact of COVID-19 across the globe.
