More than 700 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered, but it’s very uneven. This week, Tedros Ghebreyesus, director of the World Health Organization, called it “a travesty” that those most at risk in some countries have yet to get a dose. At the same time, COVAX, the main initiative aimed at making access equitable, reached a milestone this week: nearly 40 million doses have made it to 100 countries.
