Geert Wilders election victory shocks the Netherlands

Far-right politician Geert Wilders and his party won the Dutch parliamentary election last week. It was a surprise victory for Wilders, who has a long track record of Islamophobia and anti-immigrant rhetoric. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Sanne Van Oosten, a Dutch researcher at the University of Oxford, about the factors behind Wilders’ victory as well as his chances of forming a coalition government and becoming the country’s next prime minister.
