When a bystander shot a video of police officers beating Rodney King in Los Angeles in 1991, the footage shocked the world. Back then, cellphones with cameras weren’t a thing. Today, everyone understands the power of bystander videos. That’s why many French citizens are angry with their government as it considers taking away the right to film or photograph police when they’re in action. The proposed legislation sparked massive protests in France this past weekend. Now, the French government is backing off. Host Marco Werman speaks with activist Rokhaya Diallo, who is worried that their government might try again.
