Fashion warriors in Afghanistan

The World

The West has always been fascinated with how Afghan women dress. The blue burqa has become a symbol of oppression and passivity of Afghan women. But that’s not the whole picture. The World’s Shirin Jaafari has the story of two Afghan fashion designers who are incorporating traditional Afghan designs into their clothing line. We’ll also hear from an Afghan woman who is currently working as a model — and the dangers that job brings in Afghanistan.
