A report by the New York Times offers new information on the people behind Facebook propaganda campaigns that led to real-world violence in Myanmar. The World’s Marco Werman interviews the New York Times’ Paul Mozur, who reports that “members of the Myanmar military were the prime operatives behind a systematic campaign on Facebook that stretched back half a decade and that targeted the country’s mostly Muslim Rohingya minority group.”
