Exiled Afghan women’s soccer captain fears for her teammates back home

Khalida Popal says she founded the Afghan women’s football team in 2007 as an act of defiance, to show the Taliban — and the world — that Afghan women can win. Now in exile, she is fielding calls from her former teammates who fear for their lives. Marco Werman tells her story, which she shared this week with the CBC.
