Beja music from the Sudanese city of Port Sudan on the Red Sea has sadly not been well-documented. But a new recording by the ensemble Noori & His Dorpa Band changes that, and brings the listener inside some of the grievances of the three-and-a-half-year-old popular uprising in Sudan against military rule.
