Efforts in Romania to prevent trafficking of Ukrainian refugees

In April, the UN refugee agency said it was on “high alert” for cases of human trafficking as Ukrainian refugees, 90% of them women and children, fled their country, often without much money, contacts, or a plan about where to go. In Romania, which had relatively high rates of trafficking and exploitation even before the war, nonprofit groups are working to keep refugees safe. The World’s Carolyn Beeler reports from Bucharest, Romania.
