US President Donald Trump yesterday made several false statements regarding progress in the fight against COVID-19. Among them was a claim that an anti-malaria drug had been approved for use. It has not. It is going to be tested in a clinical trial, along with other drugs. The president also misspoke about patients’ “right to try” new drugs, and potential compassionate use in otherwise hopeless cases.
