Doctors Without Borders closes its Kabul operations

The World

Doctors Without Borders  — also known as Médecins Sans Frontières — is known for delivering humanitarian aid and medical care in war zones. Kabul isn’t at war, but the organization has announced it is shutting down its only program there after a deadly attack last month on a maternity ward it has operated since 2014. The organization believes its presence may have been the reason the hospital was attacked. Marco Werman speaks with Brian P. Moller, head of programs for Doctors Without Borders in Afghanistan.
