The World

Loss of taste and smell. Blue toes. Watery eyes. This new coronavirus is not quite like anything doctors or scientists have seen before — at least, when it comes to the symptoms. For months, Dr. Andrew Chan, an epidemiologist and clinician at Massachusetts General Hospital, has been crowdsourcing hundreds of thousands of people’s experiences, in near real-time, through an app, to better understand it.
