Water is life, but it’s also a matter of national security. In Egypt this week, the president said, “Don’t touch a drop of Egypt’s water, because all options are open.” It’s being viewed as a not-so-veiled threat to Ethiopia. Why? Because of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project and fears the dam will divert waters from the Nile River to Egypt, but to Sudan as well.
