Hong Kong pro-democracy advocate and media tycoon Jimmy Lai was refused bail on Thursday on a fraud charge and ordered to prison until April. Also in Hong Kong: The pro-democracy movement’s most visible activist Joshua Wong was also put in jail after pleading guilty to organizing an unauthorized protest, joining other well-known activists now behind bars. The crackdown has led many pro-democracy advocates to seek exile. Among them is a former lawmaker and activist Sunny Cheung who speaks to host Marco Werman about why he’s worried.
