After setting a tone of urgency in sweeping speeches at the UN climate summit in Glasgow over the last two days, world leaders have now left Scotland and handed things over to the negotiators to roll up their sleeves and do the nitty-gritty work for the next week and a half. On Wednesday, countries and institutions pledged billions of dollars for climate finance, which is likely to be a sticking point in this month’s negotiations as developed countries are off-track on promises made to vulnerable countries.
