Clashes in the holy city of Jerusalem

Israeli police have clashed with Palestinians on a nightly basis for nearly two weeks, since the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The immediate spark of the current unrest was a controversial decision by Israeli police to barricade the Damascus Gate plaza — a traditional outdoor gathering spot — limiting free movement throughout the month. The World’s Ariel Oseran reports from the Old City neighborhood of Jerusalem.
